I would like to put forward a fee structure for consideration


Spark Society Membership Fees Structure - Pledge Your Support and lets make something fantastic together! (Draft)

Support the Spark - Society Membership
Get access to our many workshops
$20 Yearly society dues - Includes with one free workshop

One day Drop in or regularly scheduled Workshop
$20


Support the Spark Building - Basic Membership
Get access to the building and facilities during open hours.
(Presently 3 days a week and more as our full array programs and areas come online. check hornbyspark.org for up to date info)
$25 month (minimum 4 month blocks) $100

Founding Member Basic - 1 Year Package
Pledge your support for a full year and receive 2 months free and have the society dues waived, as well, being founding member means you get to keep the monthly rate you signed up at should our rates need to go up.
$250 for 1 year access


Support the Spark Building - 24 hour Enthusiast
For all your amazing support, Get access to the building and facilities 24 hours a day so you can create whenever the maker bug strikes.
$50 a month

Founding Member - 24 hour Enthusiast - 1 Year Package
Pledge your support for a full year and receive 2 months free and have the society dues waived, as well, being founding member means you get to keep the monthly rate you signed up at should our rates need to go up.
$500 for 1 year access
(That’s a $1.37 a day to have access to over 4,000sqf of amazing tools and shop space and we have coffee too.)


Family rates - (Up to 2 adults and 4 youth under 18)
Family Basic - Monthly $37.50 (minimum 4 month blocks) $150
Family Basic - 1 Year Package $375
Family Enthusiast - Monthly $75
Family Enthusiast - 1 Year Package $750
(Full priced membership with a second membership half price)

Board members pay the same as regular members.

Hosting a workshop with 5 or more paying attendees reduces your membership fees by half,
more that 10 attendees gets a free month.
Or something to that effect. The numbers can be played with to be encouraging and still make sure the bills get paid The idea being, if you really can’t afford your membership dues then teach something useful and have those that are learning from you help give back to you and the space.

The other key element to remember is that if we want this to happen here on our little island then we are going to have to band together and do it our selves :smiley:

I rewrote and simplified the membership fees to make them easier to understand. I believe the easier they are to understand, the easier they will be to sell.

Society Membership:

In the interest of the insurance and Dust collection requirement, there is this for $1000 in Squamish:

I don’t know if a Shop-vac and a bunch of pvc would satisfy the requirements in the meantime
